When did you start doing CrossFit?
I started doing CrossFit about 3 years ago. I started at Coyote the day Hunter opened.

What is your favorite WOD?
I have never really thought about a favorite WOD. What I like is the variety. One thing about CrossFit, it keeps you humble. Just when I start to feel like “oh yeah, I’ve got this”, Hunter has posted some crazy hard WOD for the next day.

What is your least favorite WOD?
My least favorite WOD is any WOD with over 10 wall balls in a set. I don’t think wall balls and I will ever be compatible.

What is your favorite lift?
I am not sure if this is my favorite but after almost two years with a wrist injury, last week I was finally able to do snatches. Definitely not Rx, but it was my best. I do listen to you Chris, thanks for always encouraging!

What is your least favorite lift?

What is your favorite cheat meal?
Sal and Mookies pizza

Tell us a little about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.)
My greatest joy is being a mom. I have two wonderful daughters, Katelyn (21) and Megan (20), who attend and play softball at Millsaps. I am the director and lead teacher of a small Montessori preschool/kindergarten, Montessori Children’s House at Chapel of the Cross in Madison. I love all Boston/New England sports teams!!

What were you doing before CrossFit?
I was in a funk and not doing much of anything in the form of exercise.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?
Before my first WOD my thoughts were, “I am going to die!” When the WOD was over and I could finally pick myself up off of the floor, I was happy to still be alive and actually felt more alive than I had in a long time. I knew then that CrossFit was for me.

What were your goals when you joined Coyote?
My goals were pretty broad when I joined Coyote…eat healthier, lose weight, and get stronger.

Have you achieved any of these goals?
I am not sure if I would say I have achieved these goals. I have lost weight, I do eat healthier, I am much more aware of what I put in my body, and I have definitely gotten stronger. I am still a work in progress. My goal for this next year is to work hard and compete in the open in 2016.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?
CrossFit has definitely affected my life outside of the gym. Not only have I gotten stronger on the outside, I have an inner strength that has come through and touched all aspects of my life including work, family, and my faith.

Do you have any special memories/achievements during your time at Coyote?
Doing my first Rx WOD felt pretty amazing as did doing my first rope climb and toes to bar. I am still working on stringing a few together. The people and trainers at Coyote are really what make it such a special place. The most special thing that has happened to me is that my friendship with Kim has grown. We are not only workout partners who keep each other in check and push each other; Kim has become the sister I never had and for that I am truly blessed.

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?
When you first walk into Coyote it may be a little intimidating; don’t let that stop you. Listen to the trainers. Learning the correct way to do the movements is more important than the amount of weight, your times, or number of reps. You will work harder in ten minutes than you ever thought possible. You will be sore and want to give up, but you won’t. You will soon realize that you are surrounded by some of the hardest working, most encouraging people you will ever meet. It won’t take long before you are the one welcoming a new friend into the Coyote fold. Yes…it is that addictive.

Tell us something we might not know about you?
I recently completed my Masters of Education.
