Tell us a little about yourself.

I have been married to Reed for 15 years and I’m a stay at home mom to two girls (11 and 6). I like to volunteer for the girls school, but our favorite family activities involve anything happening at Mississippi State!

What were you doing before CrossFit?

I was a regular to Body Pump classes and a part time 5K runner. My husband encouraged me to try Crossfit because I wanted something more challenging. I’m a pretty competitive person. .

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

I thought I was going to die! I barely made it through the OnRamp.

What were your goals when you joined Coyote?

I wanted to push myself and see how much I could accomplish. Everything was so new and I couldn’t wait to try it all.

Have you achieved any of these goals?

I never thought I could do the things I’m doing now. It’ was so awesome to see an Rx by my name on the board the first time. The physical improvements that come along with Crossfit were an added benefit though.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

CrossFit has changed my life for the better. Before starting Crossfit I had anxiety problems, but now I don’t need medication anymore. I leave it all on the floor at Crossfit.  Also, the support of friends and coaches goes beyond the gym and into life in general.

Do you have any special memories/achievements during your time at Coyote?

Getting my first pull-up and handstand push up were really fun.

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?

Stick with it and you won’t regret it. We were all beginners once so don’t think you’re alone!

Tell us something we might not know about you?

Before Crossfit I knew nothing about weightlifting. I was a ballerina growing up.
