When did you start doing CrossFit?
This September marked two years ago of doing

What is your favorite WOD?

One of my favorite WODs is DT, but basically any WOD that doesn’t require too much running.

What is your least favorite WOD?
Least favorite WOD is probably Fran.

What is your favorite lift?
I really enjoy any type of Clean.

What is your least favorite lift?
Can’t stand a Snatch.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

Well I like to cheat at least one meal a day, but my favorite is probably pizza.

Tell us a little about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.)

I don’t have any hobbies because I really just study all hours of the day. My family is from Madison, and I have a brother and a sister. I played softball at Mississippi college where I was a pitcher. After college I coached softball at Madison Central for a year. I am currently a 2nd year medical school student at UMC.

What were you doing before CrossFit?
Working out at the Healthplex.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

After my first WOD I thought that I literally might die. I never wanted to do another workout ever again.

What were your goals when you joined Coyote?

I wanted to just live a healthier life as a whole. I was really bored with just going to a regular gym, so I was looking for more of a challenge for myself.

Have you achieved any of these goals?

I definitely have. I have loved the results that I have seen from Crossfit. It makes it so much easier when your hard work shows results, and that is definitely a common theme at Coyote. It is also much easier to eat and live healthier when you work so hard at the gym.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

It definitely has. CrossFit helps to teach you discipline and perseverance in all aspects of life. It helps you to work hard for your goals while also proving that the hard work does eventually pay off.

Do you have any special memories/achievements during your time at Coyote?

Probably my favorite memory of all-time CrossFit was getting on the podium in Pensacola with the best team ever. I really enjoy competing and working out with a team because it is a lot like how being on a softball team was. It helps me to push harder when my teammates are counting on me.

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?

My main advice would be to not quit. Its hard at first and there are weeks or even months where you cant get into the gym as much as you want. You’ll be worried about getting back into it seriously because you know how bad its going to hurt. But the few weeks of pain are definitely worth it.

Tell us something we might not know about you?

I really love to travel. Ive been snorkeling in Australia, hiked caves in New Mexico, seen a Yankees game in Yankee Stadium. I love to go and see new places, try new foods, and meet new people and experience different cultures.
