Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Madison and attended MRA.  After graduating from Ole Miss, I began my career in the insurance industry 12 years ago.  I am currently a Surety Account Executive for Zurich North America; half of my time is spent at our Ridgeland office while the remainder is used to meet with my construction clients and agency partners across the state (which is why I usually attend class at several different times each week).

I live in Jackson with my wife, Gigi, and we are the parents of 15 month old twin daughters, Anne Weston & Mabry Cate, and our dachshund, Baxter.  Gigi teaches 2nd grade at FPDS and we attend church at FPC of Jackson.  I enjoy spending time with family, playing golf, and attending Ole Miss football & baseball games.

What were you doing before CrossFit?

Chronic cardio with many hours spent on an elliptical machine.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

I survived.  Let’s see if I can make it through tomorrow’s WOD.

What were your goals when you joined Coyote?

I wanted to get in better shape and lose some weight.

Have you achieved any of these goals?

I’m definitely in better shape than I was a year ago and I have lost 10 pounds with no changes to my diet.  My current goal is clean up my diet in order to lose a few more pounds and improve my performance in workouts.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

I have more energy throughout the day and actually seem to get more sleep at night.

Do you have any special memories/achievements during your time at Coyote?

Completing my first handstand pushup was a memorable accomplishment.  I could not even flip myself up on the wall when that cycle started.

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?

They should log their workouts (on paper or online) in order to track their progress and see their growth.  Logging my workouts also gives me a goal every time I come into the gym because I’m looking to beat my previous scores.

Tell us something we might not know about you?

I have only missed one Ole Miss home football game since 1998.
