March, 2001

What is your favorite WOD?

Any kind of Chipper

What is your least favorite WOD?

Fran and any WOD with Thrusters

What is your favorite lift?

Power Clean and deadlift

What is your least favorite lift?

Thrusters (imagine that) and front squats

What is your favorite cheat meal?

Pizza

Tell us a little about yourself.

 I have been married to Blake Swanson for 20 years, and we have 3 boys – Cody (17), Hatcher (14) and Gunnar (11).  Since I am a stay at home mom, I didn’t feel as though I had enough to do so I took up sewing.  I now have a small sewing business.  I also am a licensed barber.

What were you doing before CrossFit?

Typical gym stuff (legs one day, upper body the next etc) and running

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

I think I was just glad it was over

What were your goals when you started CrossFit?

When I started CrossFit in 2011, I think my biggest goal was to not quit on any WOD!  LOL  I remember one of my first WODs was something like 3 rounds of run 800m, something else and 75 burpees!!!!  It seemed to take me forever.  I definitely have had different goals in the last 7 years.

Have you accomplished these goals?

Yes!  I try not to make goals that I set for myself too difficult to attain so I don’t get to frustrated and want give up.

Do you have any special memories of your time at Coyote?

I don’t have any specific memory or achievement, but the one thing I love about Coyote is that it is truly like a family.  I generally go to the 8:30 class and I can honestly say that my best friends are there.  We sweat and die together…and then we all go eat lunch!  LOL

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?

My dad always told me growing up “never quit once you start something, always finish”  so that would be my advice.
