When did you start doing CrossFit?

I started Coyote CF 3 years ago, because a friend encouraged Rob me to come. Now it is something my whole family enjoys!

What is my favorite WOD?

My favorite WOD’s include a combination of running or rowing with kettle bell swings, box jumps, or wall balls. I’m currently trying to master double unders.

What were you doing before CrossFit?

I played basketball in high school and tried tennis for a few years prior to CF; however, it was difficult to stick with anything because of my work schedule, ministry, and kid’s activities. Now CF is a priority and a commitment that has become a routine part of my life.

What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

It was pretty intimidating at first because the lifts were unfamiliar and I was out of shape. After my first few workouts at Coyote and specifically my first 20 min AMRAP, I went to my car and cried. I thought I had escaped without anyone noticing, until the coaches teased me about it a few days later. Ha! My uneasiness about the lifts gradually decreased because the coaches care enough to make sure your technique improves, although thrusters and overhead squats will always be a thorn in my side!

Has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?

 The greatest benefits CF has given me is a wonderful community of friends who encourage and push each other, a healthy eating lifestyle, and a stronger core ( no more chronic lower back pain ).

What advice would you give someone just starting at Coyote?

Keep showing up is my motto! No matter how tired and sore I might feel because there’s no better feeling than to finish a tough workout!

Tell us something we might not know about you?

Something you may not know about me is my extreme love for animals. We have 3 dogs, a cat, and 2 horses. Horseback riding brings me lots of joy!
